Isumi-city is located in the southeastern part of Chiba Prefecture and is a resort area facing the Pacific Ocean to the east. The journey from the Amprett Communications Research Institute (Taito Ward, Tokyo) to the Amprett Isumi Research Institute takes approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes via the JR “Wakashio” limited express train. Isumi-city borders Ichinomiya Town and Mutsuzawa Town in Chosei District to the north, Otaki Town to the west, and Katsuura City and Onjuku Town to the south.
The Isumi Railway, a local line running from Ohara in Isumi-city toward Otaki, and the surrounding rural scenery are popular spots for photography.
Thanks to its mild climate, the area is rich in agricultural products such as vegetables and rice, and is famous for seafood including spiny lobster, abalone, and octopus. The “Ohara Fishing Port Morning Market” (scheduled dates) is bustling with visitors.
Along the coast of the Sotobo region, including Taito and Ohara, you can enjoy surfing and coastal walks, and the area is also ideal for cycling and driving along the coast.
